With guest speaker Caterina Politi mother of fatal one-punch victim David Cassai, in Rye on New Year’s Eve 2012. Lunch is on Saturday 10th June from 12.30pm at $10 per person (includes meal & 1 complimentary soft drink) other drinks at bar prices.
Since losing David, Ms Politi from Templestowe has driven her sadness and pain into raising awareness and continues to campaign on the dangers of late-night violence. She launched the “STOP. One Punch Can Kill” campaign – an ongoing campaign to spread the message about how violence can affect and ruin so many lives. In 2014 they successfully petitioned the Victorian Government and as a result the new ‘Coward’s Punch Manslaughter” law was introduced on the 1st November 2014.
