Blackburn Junior Girls
Commitment to Female Football
Blackburn Football Club has proudly championed girls' football for many years. In 2025, we celebrate:
- 19 years of promoting opportunities for girls in football
- 14 years of fielding all-girls teams.
Our Program
In 2025, Blackburn Football Club fielded nine girls' teams, with over 150 players.
Competing across all EFNL age groups, our program continues to grow, with plans to expand further in 2026.
Our dedicated coaches are passionate advocates for girls' football, fostering a love for the game. They are backed by a Girls Program Coordinator and a Junior Committee with a 50/50 gender balance.
We proudly offer a pathway from Auskick to our Junior and Senior programs, with opportunities for players to progress to VFLW and AFLW.
A Program of Success
Over the years, our girls' program has achieved remarkable success, consistently producing talented players and coaches.
In 2025 alone, we had amazing success across our Girls' program:
- U12 Black Premiership (B Grade)
- U14 Black Premiership (B Grade)
- U18 Black Premiership (A Grade)
Blackburn is proud to be one of the top community clubs for producing AFLW players.
We’re Serious
Since the AFL’s launch of a national competition in 2017, female football has grown exponentially, and Blackburn Football Club is committed to being a leader in this space. We remain dedicated to growing and developing our girls' program to provide the best opportunities for all players.
Our Junior Girls 2025 Achievements
Blackburn Girls program has grown from strength to strength and in 2025 we celebrated our greatest success across the girls teams. 6 teams progressed into the finals and 3 teams came home with the Premierships.
We are Blackburn.
