Our mission is to make Blackburn Junior Football Club the premier destination for children in Blackburn and nearby suburbs to develop their football skills. We strive to create an environment that fosters growth, teamwork, and family involvement. While our club has a rich history spanning nearly a century in senior football, our junior program began more recently and has rapidly grown into a thriving community.

The junior program began in 1990 when a group of passionate parents sought to provide their children with opportunities to continue playing football locally. Originating with one team from St. Thomas’ primary school, Blackburn FC supported the initiative with jumpers and facilities, enabling the formation of an Under 13 team in the Knox Junior Football League. This team laid the foundation for what has become a thriving junior program.

By 1993, Blackburn FC added an Under 14 team in the EFNL, followed by an Under 16 team the next year. In 1996, teams for Under 10s and Under 12s were introduced. Recognizing the need for earlier pathways, an Under 9 team was launched in 1999, ensuring young players could begin their football journey at Blackburn FC. Additional teams were progressively added to support this growth.
